PRINTING INFORMATION

PRINT AREA. Printing may come within 1/2" of heat seals (side seals, seals on Die Cut and Drawstring areas) and within 3/4" of handles on Hand-L Bags. Printing may bleed into the bottom gusset. For edge to edge printing, contact the UF Line for pricing and availability.
PROCESS PRINTING. 4-color process printing requires prior approval of artwork, higher minimums and special quotation. Contact The UF Line for more information.
COLOR/COPY CHANGES. All orders requiring changes of color or copy within the total run will necessitate special upcharges. Minimum per change is 3,000 pieces, whether for color or copy changes.

COLOR CHANGE: $200 (V) for each change within the run.
PLATE CHANGE: (for print areas larger than 5"x7"): $200(V) for each change within the run.
SLUG CHANGE: (for print areas 5"x7" or smaller): $100 (V) for each change within the run.

BOTTOM GUSSET PRINTING. Distributor's name will be printed on bags with bottom gussets unless otherwise specified in writing. Printing of distributor name on bags without bottom gussets must be specified on order with position and size noted. Any other information required will be printed in bottom gusset at your request, without additional cost.
EYESPOTS. A small, solid, rectangular box may print at the bottom corner on one side of each printed bag. This box, known as an eyespot, is necessary for bagmaking operations. For more information, contact The UF Line.
UNION LABEL. Union label available and bug imprinted when requested on all products manufactured in the United States by union craftsmen.

OVERRUNS/UNDERRUNS. Orders are subject to overruns or underruns as follows:

On orders of 14M or less
On orders of 15M to 49M
On orders of 50M to 99M
On orders of 100M or more

All invoices will be rendered for actual (total) quantity shipped. Any special arrangements must be discussed with factory (absolute minimum requirements or client budgetary restrictions, etc.).

BAG COLORS

STANDARD BAG COLORS
Standard bag colors for most UF Line products include white, clear, grey, beige, cream, and black. Additionally, red, blue, green, yellow and many others are readily available - please call The UF Line for specific information Mini-Lot bags are available in white, red, beige, yellow, blue and grey at no additional charge.
NOTE ON BLACK BAGS. Bags manufactured with black film in single wall construction may be printed in metallic silver or metallic gold only (see color chart). For edge to edge black printing or double wall construction where a complete black "background" is desired with imprint colors other than silver or gold, additional color charges and plate charges will apply. ART REQUIREMENTS

Artwork should be supplied camera ready, to size and color separated. Film negatives or high quality photostats (no photocopies) are preferred. Negatives for single wall construction bags must be right-reading, emulsion side up; negatives for double wall construction bags must be right-reading, emulsion side down. All screens and halftones must be 55 or 65 line screen, round dot only.
COMPUTER GENERATED ARTWORK. The following requirements must be met when submitting artwork on computer disk. If the following requirements are not met, the disk will not load.

Hard copy output from disk, indicating color breakdowns must be submitted
Artwork may be created on MACINTOSH system X or earlier.
Acceptable artwork formats: 3.5" DISK, Zip Disk, Jaz Disk (100 or 250), CD ROM, Super Disk, Syquest Removable Cartridge (44, 88 or 200MB)
The following MAC formatted programs are acceptable:
- ADOBE PAGEMAKER 6.5 or earlier
- ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 6.0 or earlier
- ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR 9.0 or earlier
- ADOBE ACROBAT 4.0
- QUARK XPRESS 5.0 or earlier
- MACROMEDIA FREEHAND 9.0 or earlier
- ADOBE INDESIGN 1.5
- COREL DRAW 8.0 or earlier
WINDOWS disks and files of the above programs are workable only if the files are submitted in the WINDOWS version of the above programs. Typefaces may need to be substituted in these cases. Convert type to outlines for best results.
Disk must contain any EPS or TIFF files, all printer and screen fonts used, and any after-market extensions. Save final artwork in program format, not as EPS or Postscript files.
Please include a listing of files that apply to your job if disk contains more than one job on it.
NOTE: WHEN DISK, CD ROM OR SYQUEST IS SUPPLIED, A CHARGE FOR FILM OUTPUTS WILL BE INCURRED.
You are solely responsible for the content of the files submitted and understand that they will be imaged (output) as you have saved them and agree to pay for them, regardless of their content or appearance.
NOTE: THE UF LINE ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE TO ANY GRAPHIC MATERIAL, DELAY IN PRODUCTION, LOST REVENUE OR OTHER CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE.

PLATE CHARGES

The printing process is flexography, requiring separated art, metal engravings, and rubber or photopolymer plates. All designs, logos and/or straight line copy will incur plate charges. For one side printing or for different copy on each side, contact the UF Line for plate charges. Please note that plate charges for bags less than 12" width require special quotation. Prices on the following estimation table include printing of same imprint on both sides of the product, when applicable:

All sketches, mechanical artwork and corrections to mechanicals, negatives, or disks will be charged in addition to plate charges.
BAGS LESS THAN 12Ó WIDTH. Requires special plate quotation.
STOCK DESIGNS. When using stock designs, plate charge only applies to the custom imprint area.
PROCESS PRINTING, BENDAYS, HALFTONES. Printing plates for process printing, bendays or halftones require special quotation. Match print proofs are submitted by request only at an additional charge.
NOTE: No estimation given by UF Line personnel will be considered official until we are in possession of the actual art submitted and until firm art and plate charges are given with the pre-production proof.

IMPRINT COLORS

STANDARD IMPRINT COLORS. Colors listed on the pocket below and printed on the color chart in this pocket are standard UF Line imprint colors. All special inks such as metallic inks require a special upcharge (see section on special inks). We refer to the Pantone Matching System when matching colors. Colors may vary slightly within commercial tolerances. Please contact The UF Line to obtain additional color charts.
SPECIAL IMPRINT COLORS. Imprint colors other than those listed below are available at no additional charge for items ordered in quantities of 25M or more. For color matches under 25M units, there will be an upcharge of $120(U) per color match, per order. Minimum order for special imprint colors is 5M units. SPECIAL INKS. Dayglo inks are available in minimum of 50M quantity at an upcharge of 15% on the total product price. Metallic inks are available at an upcharge of 10%-l5% depending upon the coverage of ink required (this includes the standard metallic silver and golds listed below).
